Slovenia in Space through Science and Art
SLOVENIA, June 2 - Ambassador Mirošič emphasized Slovenia's accession to the Artemis Accords in the frame of the Strategic dialogue between Slovenia and the USA, regular attendance on Space Symposium in Colorado Springs for fostering cooperation between Slovenian and American companies in the field of Space. Slovenia is a "Space nation" with its own satellites in Space. He underlined the need for cooperation between Europe (ESA) and the USA (NASA) in scientific exploration of Space.
Embassy of Slovenia proudly welcomed dr. Ronald Sega, another former NASA astronaut with Slovenian heritage Professor and Director of Systems Engineering, a veteran of two space flights (STS-60 in 1994 and STS-76 in 1996), who logged over 420 hours in space. In an inspiring conversation with Nathan Kumar, International Program Specialist at NASA, Sega highlighted his own way from electrical engineering to the stars, the need to include also small countries into space cooperation and importance of international partnerships (ESA, NASA) in space exploration. He explained why metrics is an important tool to foster business cooperation among Slovenian and the US companies, and highlighted the importance of strong Slovene - American ties through the history, culture and science.
His depiction of importance of science on Earth and in Space demonstrated a meaningful transition to the exhibition and informans by a renown Slovene producer, Aljoša Živadinov Zupančič and Teater DELAK, who performed a techno-formated artistic interpretation of visionnary scientific findings by Herman Potočnik Noordung, also an electrical engineer and astronautics theorist of Slovene origin, its pioneer design of a space station from 1929, and a current state of a flagship 50-year theater performance NOORDUNG, by Dragan Živadinov.
